Sister Restaurant Of DC Indian Restaurant To Open In Alexandria

A new Indian restaurant is coming to Old Town Alexandria's Tavern Square in 2021. Kismet Modern Indian, a sister restaurant of DC's Karma Modern Indian, will open at 111 N. Pitt Street. The restaurant comes from founders Sachin Mahajan and Ricky Singh and Executive Chef Ajay Kumar, who will bring his award-winning cuisine from Karma Modern Indian. Spring “Virtual” Senior Academy Begins Registration

Spring is in the air and Senior Services of Alexandria is excited to be hosting its Spring Senior Academy virtually via Zoom starting in April. This 4-week free course will meet every Wednesday morning starting April 7 from 10 to 11:30 am and continue on April 14, 21, and 28.  The Senior Academy is for Alexandria residents 65 and older or those who work in the City to learn about how the city operates including programs and services for older adults. $16,000 Raised By Holiday Soirée Of Scholarship Fund Of Alexandria Women

The annual Women’s Holiday Soiree of Scholarship Fund of Alexandria was held virtually on Dec. 3 to celebrate women and the power of community. The event, entitled “Hygge for the Holidays”. It brought nearly 60 women from Alexandria and beyond together via Zoom for toasting, holiday @home entertaining tips, and a celebration of how scholarships can change lives for students with financial need.
